When a 60 W light bulb is used on the 240V mains for eight hours:
(a) What current does it draw?
(b) What is the resistance of the bulb?
(c) How much energy does it consume? In Joule and kilowatt hour
(d) What is the cost of this energy at 12 cents per hour?

60 W / 240 v = 1/4 amp (a)
R = 240/0.25 = 960 ohms (b)
60 W x 8 hr = 480 watt-hour or 0.48 kW-hour or 1.728 MJ (c)
Assuming that is 12 cents per kW-hour
0.48 kW-hour x $0.12 / kW-hour = $0.058 (d)
