And now that time has led to this,
Time frozen before our first kiss,
The memories flood my racing mind,
And with my feelings intertwined,
I think back to our first date,
Of the warm setting sun as the hour grew late,
The way your eyes seemed so clear and bright,
As the candles danced and flickered, casting off light,
Of holding hands as we walked slowly home,
Letting my thoughts amble and roam,
As I thought with you what the future might hold,
Of romance, or love, a story untold,
And now here we are, as our lips finally touch,
You in my arms as I softly do clutch,
Your hand in mine, with fingers as one,
Looking at you silhouetted in the dying sun,
I look forward not back to what might be,
And things will be fine as long as you’re with me.
