Help!! Trouble fitting strip light in garage?
Hi,
I need to replace a strip light in the garage, it is a 70w bulb, but everytime i but a new strip tube in it blows and trips the electrics. Has anyone any idea what i am doing wrong? I am using the correct voltage tube, im onto my 3rd and its costing me a fortune!!

You should replace the entire fitting. This is probably a faulty “choke”, the auto-transformer that produces the high-tension “strike” voltage.
It’s not cost-effective to try and replace the components of a fluorescent fitting. New ones are fairly cheap (look up the B&Q or Wickes web sites) and easy to install (make sure that the earth is connected, it is often the most fiddly of the connections).
