Someone with real experience on on a saltwater fish tank?
I have a 20 gallon aquarium, and i want it to be a reef aquarium. What corals, and fish should i put in it? They all have to go well together.
Sounds like you want to set up a Nano reef aquarium. It is incredible how popular these tanks have become over the past 3-5 years. People are keeping nano tanks very successfully compared to years past.
There are simply too many corals to try to give you a list and it will depend on the type of lighting you go with. Most people will go with small power compact (PC) lighting over their nano tanks. These bulbs would be considered low to moderate lighting so you would want to keep corals that will do well under those conditions. I would suggest looking at soft corals like leather corals, xenia or mushrooms. There are lots of different types of these corals available.
If you go with higher intensity lighting, like T5HO or metal halide you can get corals that require more intense lighting.
As far as fish go, you will want to stay with fish that don’t get large and limit it to 1-3 fish (depending on their size). I would suggest looking at some of the less aggressive clownfish (percula, ocellaris or skunk clowns), some type of goby or gramma for the tank.
