Metal Halide Question?
I have three cooper 230P270H07 metal halide light fixtures m-58. I left them on for a month or two by mistake as I left the area and didn’t come back for some time. When I came back I found they were all not working. I replaced all three bulbs but they still don’t turn on. When I flip the switch I do hear the fixture buzz as I always have but the lights never turn on. I was just wondering if there is a common fix for this when the fixture buzzes but nothing comes on. I ended up getting a ballast kit that came with everything and that fixed it
If they are 230 volts check if 1 leg of power is out.
A while back we had trouble with new fixtures…they had defective capacitors.
The caps were not the metal can type usually used but incapsulated plastic.
See if the caps are swollen or mis-shaped.
