Question about our modern music era…?
Do any of you that grew up listening to music in the 60-80s feel almost bad for kids that are growing up in an era where musical ability and originality is at an all-time low???
To be honest, I’m getting sick of some of the bands I’ve been listening to. They’re all begining to sound the same to me… lately I’ve been listening to more of Jefferson Airplane, The Beatles, Electic Light Orchestra, The Doors, Led Zeppelin, and other bands lately more than I have been my entire life, because it feels like there’s not much left for me to listen to…

There are always exceptions. Some exceptions are obvious, others are hidden. You just have to find them.
I always try to look at lists, articles, whatever I can find, even the radio, to find some bands. Come across a name I don’t know, I look it up. Try that. For example, Rolling Stone Magazine’s Greatest Guitarists list lists a couple of good modern guitarists. So far, I’ve seen John Frusciante, the two guitarists of Radiohead, Jack White, and Derek Trucks, all from the 90′s and 00′s.
You can also go to digitaldreamdoor.com to find some great new bands of the 00′s. Since there aren’t that many good acts, some terrible bands are listed on, but there are a few that will stand out.
