My hydroponic bubbler isn’t ?
I have herbs in a hydroponic bubbler that I built. I have recently moved it outside as I think my light isn’t sufficient, but still no improvement. The plants aren’t dead but they are dieing. PH is good. Should I run the bubbles around the clock? Any other tips?
it’s hard to tell the problem from the info, but YES leave the bubbler on 24/7 to keep oxygen in the water.
a fish-tank pump & an air-stone will aerate the water really well too.
hydroponics work better by flooding the root area & draining away regularly (every 15min to 1 hour for say 5-10 min even 2 min). or flowing continuously over the roots.
the roots don’t like to be immersed when there is no light as they simply don’t suck up water unless the suns up.
replace nutrient regularly, approx every 2 weeks & flush with fresh water in between to remove salt build up.
make sure nutrient is at CORRECT strength !
ph should be around 6.25 – 6.5 (6.25 is about optimum)
try adding a little seaweed based fertiliser to the mix or a drop of superthrive if you can find this amazing product!
