Can I fix a 400 watt High Pressure Sodium Ballast?
I ordered My 400 w growlight from HTG supply and did not assemble it untill I was ready to flower. Like an Idiot I used a 2 pronged Extention since i did not have a 3 prong socket near my closet.. And im poor..
The light worked for about an hour then the light shut off and the ballast made a strange hissing sound. The sound is coming from the large black Coil . Not the wire assembly. But the wire assembly seems bunched up. Did it over heat? Is this fixable?
This was done on a 15amp circuit. well within the parameters of the ballast

What I meant by 2 pronged extension is it basicly makes a 3 pronged cord into a 2
Sounds like the ballast was wired for a different voltage than your wall outlet. The ballast is fried and needs to be replaced.
