Do I have low blood sugar?
I fainted yesterday at an outdoor event. It was really sunny & hot. I hadn’t drank any water that day; just a little apple juice. I usually drink about 40-60 oz a day. My school nurse thinks I have low-blood pressure because I’ve fainted 1 other time under similar circumstances (i.e. outdoor, hot, sunny, and little water). I don’t think that I have low-blood pressure. But can drinking too much water hid the symptoms of low blood pressure?
Other details:
-I’m a 16 female
-I get really bad migraines sometimes
-I get headaches if I don’t drink a lot of water
First of all, I think you need to start drinking a lot more water because dehydration contributes to your fainting. Also, it sounds like you drink a lot of apple juice so i don’t think you have low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). But, low blood sugar and low blood pressure are to completly different things. I have type 1 diabetes and i have to drink juice when my blood sugar is low but it sounds like you might have low blood pressure and you should go to the doctor for that. I just suggest you drink more water and even bring a bottled water with you when you go outside on hot, sunny days, I hope this helps you !!
