studio photography lighting… please translate!?
I am looking to buy studio lighting for my photography, but (embarrassingly) I am not up to date on my photography lingo. Can someone PLEASE translate this for me, and tell me if it is a good deal? Also, put it in simpler terms. Thank you so much!

I have studio flash euipment power supply (large) three heads and reflectors with quartz modeling lights and one light stand which attaches to the power supply. The power supply is heavy enough to act as ballast.
The power supply recycles almost as fast as you can push the shutter release.
I have only used it on the lowest power setting as it produces a huge amount of light on high.
The modeling lights can be used as a constant light source. I believe they are 500 watts each. they are variable so you can turn them down for modeling. Of course the color temperature will change when you do that.
It is made by American Speedlight Corporation (ASCOR)
I will be asking $150.00.
This is a strobe pack lighting system. There is a power supply/control box, and it has connectors for multiple flash heads. The flash heads are useless without the power pack.
From what I can gather, these were very powerful, and very heavy, systems. They included modeling lights in the strobe heads, but were never designed to use them as continuous lighting. That’s like buying a 20′ box truck to move 1 couch.
The whole thing also tells me that the seller doesn’t actually have a clue as to what he is selling either.
