dying dark brown hair to a dirt blonde?
Ok. So i was born with what everyone called “gorgeous blonde hair” with many different color blondes in it. I wanted something different so i dyed my hair a light brown. I loved having darker hair so every 5 or 6 weeks i would dye it darker and darker. Eventually I got to black. After I saw that my hair was getting fryed to death(I have thin hair too) I realized I needed to stop dying it. So my hair grew out the black and now i have my old blonde roots growing in. They are about two inches from the top of my scalp. My hair has faded to a chocolate brown and i was wondering if i could go get a DIY hair dying kit and dying it back to a color really close to my natural one without turning out horrible?

It can be done, but trust me (I have black hair and tried it once) it takes so long. Your best bet is to go to a professional and have them bleach your hair back to blond, but even that will take a long time. You may have to go multiple times because from the sound of it, you layered dye on your hair and each visit will likely only strip away a layer at most. The process of getting back to blond will pretty much kill your hair because its stripping the color that has absorbed in the hair out, so if you want to stay safe, I would say just let it grow back naturally and wait (it might look cool and different if half of your hair is dark and half is light).
You said that you had different tones of blond in your natural hair. There’s pretty much no way to get that kind of blond from a dye…unless you’re willing to dish out major money.
Please! Don’t go the lemon bleach or the Hot Topic bleach kit way because the white you’ll get (after frying your hair in front of your bathroom sink) is going to clash with the natural tones. Plus your arms will fall off.
