Coral lighting question!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 10 pts!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?
So I am setting up a 55 gallon marine tank with reef safe fish and corals, except this time, i only can get a 2 bulb T5 light fixture, which is only 108 watts. maybe i can get one thats better and used, but for now, what are some nice corals that will be able to survive and grow in the tank? I have had a reef tank for a year, but I had to end it because I had to move a big distance. Now that its over, Im doin it again, but I have a budget to keep.

that’s a big tank with huge limitations if your only going less than 2 watts per gallon on light. Would it not have been better to get a smaller tank and actually make it worth the money? Perhaps you just need to shop around better. Even if mushrooms and polyps do grow in that light, they will only turn brown. The worst part about it is that a 55 gallon tank has a lot of height so your unlikely to be able to have anything grow at the bottom of the tank.
Lights from here might be a decent option but you will still have to replace the bulbs when possible because the ones that come with these lights are really cheap.
