Rings inside halogen bulbs?
I need to buy a 300 watt, 120 volt halogen bulb for a tall standing lamp in my room. The problem is that some of them contain 3 metal rings inside the bulb (like this: http://www.servicelighting.com/catpics/sylvania/58942.jpg) and others contain 4 (like this:

Do the amount of rings in the bulb matter? Or is it just the voltage and wattage? I just want to make sure I don’t start a fire.

Does not make any difference…just make sure the wattage is correct for the fixture/lamp.
Always handle halogen bulbs with a cloth. Oil from fingers will cause hot spots on the bulb & cause them to burn out early.
