I’m trying to make a LED lamp. Any help?
I want to make a conical shaped lamp with around 30 LEDs that will rotate and have a speaker with a 3.5mm jack for an iPod with volume control and it has to plug into a regular 120V receptacle. Where would I be able to go to learn what I need to know?
To make it simple for you to make this lamp,here is:
[1] Buy 40 pieces white LED rated 3V to 3.2V.
[2] Connect all of them in series and make sure the polarity is correctly connected..first LED cathode connects to next LED anode and so on.
[3] Power it directly with 120 volts via a 100mA fuse for safety. 120V hot line connects to the first LED anode and 120v neutral connects to 40th.LED cathode.
[4] It shall light up if all the connections are correct. Make the lamp rotate is not as simple as you think.
It requires a small 120v motor and gear box to slow down the rpm. And two pieces hand make rotary contact placing on the shaft to pass electricity to LED while rotating.
