Having trouble growing Marijuana?
I am licensed to use marijuana for medicinal use, so nothing I am asking is illegal. I am allowed to cultivate up to 6 plants and have the seeds…the problem is I dont seem to have much of a “green” thumb…seeds are not growing, or they’ll get a couple inches, then die…I have a hydroponic system, and Im germinating the seeds with the paper towel method right now. I am being careful not to damage the sprout when I plant them in a vermiculite/rock moss pod. My nutrients are mixed correctly, they get 18 hours of light a day…what might i be doing wrong? or maybe you can give me suggestions? Thanks, Allie in CO
I am intrigued with your method of growing marijuana, Hydroponics is something I have never tried except to root cuttings to be planted eventually in soil. I can’t imagine why they would need 18 hours of sunlight – they certainly can’t get that in nature. I have used grow-lights before and know that when plants are small, the grow-lights need to be placed just a few inches above the plants to be bright enough to keep leaf production at a maximum. You do realize that before the marijuana plant will produce pods it will probably reach 6 to 8 feet tall or more! Are you growing plants entirely inside? Your methods of germination are correct, I use this method also for my flower and vegetable seeds. Sounds like you might have a nutrient problem. Either too much – would burn the roots – or not enough. Try planting the germinated seed in pots with soil under grow-lights or in a sunny window. If you have success there is something wrong with your hydroponic system.
