Plant is dying, I think I scorched it?

I have a hanging Ivy plant I keep indoors. It gets indirect light from my large sliding glass door. Well, it started to look a bit wilted, so I took it outside to get some sunshine! …..I didnt know I could shock the plant due to temp change, or that I could scorch it with too much sun! .
Im not sure what it was, but now half of it is turning brown! Its been about a week, and half seems to half perked up, and half seems dying!
What do I do? Can I save it?

A plant grown indoors is not used to UV light and can burn if not exposed gradually.

You will lose part of it but the plant should live. Ivy is hard to kill. Just cut off the dead part. When was the last time you changed the soil. Your plant may be root bound and that’s why it looked wilted. Give it a few weeks to recover and then repot it
