Where can I get a step-up transformer that can handle 400W?
I brought my 40OW HPS ballast (used for lighting in a greenhouse) from the UK to the US. It won’t run, of course, with only 110V. I’m guessing what I need is a step-up transformer, but I can only find small ones that can handle up to 25 watts. Is there such a thing as a step-up transformer that can handle 400W comfortably and can be bought for the home?
Grainger should have the item in stock. You need a buck boost transformer or a step up transformer configuration. Most of the proper size will include a wiring diagram to do this.
