can i grow a healthy aquatic plant in my aquarium if placed directly under a solar/UV lamp?
i have a 20 gallon tank with a baby turtle and one large aquatic plants that has stems with large leaves on the ends. i dont know the name of the plant, but, if i place it under the solar/UV light that the turtle uses for basking and heat, will the plant be healthy or would it be better off with less direct light and heat?

Normally the sunspot should be installed over a terrestrial or semi-terrestrial part of the tank and in a way that the light shines upright not to hurt the turtles eyes. In this way it will not harm any plant growing besides; the turtle – a herbivore – is much more risky for plants.
But if the tank is not placed in a sunny location, it might be that the plant needs a special light too.
