aquarium ballast for metal halide?
i just bought myself a icecap 250w metal halide pendant Designed for 1 250W Metal Halide HQI lamp for my reef tank i problem i have if with the ballast choices other there. when i do a general search online for the metal halide ballasts i brings up all kinds (meaning the ones i find one aquarium sites and others) what is the difference between like the icecap 250 ballast and any other like this one i found http://www.lightbulbemporium.com/venture… the biggest diff i see is the price but what about how they work what is so different between them also maybe you could leave a link to what i will need to get the cheaper the better
you link doesnt work.
The problem is you dont want to mess around with metal halide, get the ballast for it, i dont know enough about it, but the problem is metal halide gets hot and there are stories of it catching on fire, so i really wouldnt experiement too much, still with the icecap 250W
