how much light for my reef tank?
how long should my attinin and my metal halides and my luner lights stay on for?
Use lights to duplicate day and night on the reef. Ideally, you turn on your actinic and metal halides from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (10 hours ). These two lights stimulate daytime in the reef. After this, turn them off. Next, turn on the lunar light from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. (4 hours). The lunar light stimulate moonlight or night at the reef. These are not hard-and-fast rules, however, so you can vary it according to your aquarium viewing pleasure. You can do this manually or use timers.
