Any lighting experts out there?
The overhead light bulbs in my kitchen are 17 years old, can’t believe they are still working, have these same type throughout the house. I understand they use a lot of electricity. I am hearing LED is the way to go, tried to check into this but did not realize there are sooooo many bulbs out there, gee whiz already. The ones I want to replace have the regular screw in base, but this old bulb is shaped like a flood light, Which bulbs should I use to replace these that would be energy efficient, I bought the ones from HOME DEPOT they swirl around, was told NOT to use them, if one accidentally got broke it could make you very sick, sorry I do not know the name they come in a lime green package and OF COURSE made in China, where else would they be made right? Which LED? bulbs do you rec? I need about 20 of them….thank you very much.
I use all three type light bulbs in my home.
* Standard tungsten lamps still have to be used on any 3-way or lamps on “dimmers”
* Compact fluorescent lamp (CFL) lamps can be used anywhere else you have previously been using standard lamps (these lamps contain mercury, so must be disposed of as hazardous waste)
* LED lamps are very low output and the three I bought to test (they are the most expensive of the three) I use as night lights, they are that dim.
