What do you think of carbon fiber parts?
Like hoods and trunks? I know they are lighter (how much lighter are they than oem parts?), but I heard that the carbon fiber is more brittle and stiff than the metal, so if you are in a collision, the hood of the car could come and chop you in half. What do you think, is carbon fiber worth it? What are some of the pros and cons of it?
personally i think carbon fiber parts are over rated, unless you are big time into racing, where weight is everything. carbon fiber parts are substantially lighter than stock body parts. like you said, they are strong, but they don’t bend at all… they just break. so i would say save your money and do fiber glass if you must do a hood or deck lid.
