Calculate the distance from the central maximum to the first bright region on the either side of the central maximum.
For this question, the m should be 1 or 2?
How can I solve this problem?
Use the equation
λ=xd/L
λ=547nm = 5.47×10^-7 m
d=0.135mm = 1.35×10^-5 m
L=1.72m
And you want to find x; so:
x = λL/d = (5.47×10^-7)(1.72)/(1.35×10^-5) = 0.0697 m
(Which is nearly 7 cm)
