CO2 systems question for freshwater plant aquarists?
I set up a tank again after not having one for many years, and I’m hoping to get plants to grow. I have a 250W MH grow bulb over it and of course, already the algae is doing much better than the few plants. Before, I just had a big cylinder dripping the CO2 into a powerhead or something like that, and while I had to fiddle with it all the time, the plant growth was insane and beautiful.
Is there any new, less touchy but still very low-maintenance CO2 system available these days that you recommend? I don’t want to go to a pet store (there are no aquarium shops in my area) and get sold whatever is on the shelf.
And, any other random advice you have is welcome =)
best to get a pressurized Co2 set up. there is no maintenance. just filling the cylinder and adjusting the flow till it is where you want it. The needle valves that they have now are great. once you get it set you never have to touch it again. dont forget to get a drop checker to know when youve got your co2 right.

^^ the lowest priced ones on all those sites are more than good enough. It is the high quality needle valve that will minimize your maintenance.
or if you want to save, get your parts on ebay and put it together yourself. just dont get the cheaper versions with the cheap needle valves and youll be happy
