Growing plants without light?
I tried a little experiment and tried growing a plant without light in a hydroponic system. I’m currently using a combination of top feed and recirculating DWC. The plant gets 0 hours of light. It’s been 2 weeks so far and the plant is only about 4 inches tall. The roots on the other hand are massive and have developed into an extremely large root mass.
If i keep it in the hydroponic system for 2 more weeks and then introduce a 400 watt high pressure sodium bulb, will the plant grow extremely fast seeing that it already has a very nice root system developed? or will the plant gradually die?
the plant has adapted to the no light situtation by preparing a large root system to gather and store nutrients your providing
it as if though its hibernating and being fed a full course meal
although nothing stoping it from growing that little bit
to have a more accurate test you should use several different plants from different regions of the world
