I need help on custom making a small fish tank?
I decided to get a fish tank but my friend had a way of getting lots of acrylic 4 free. So I decided the dimensions (L70*H25*W17cm, approx. 30-34L)and did all the drawing and stuff. The problem is I dont have any experience with building a tank out of scratch, all I know is I need silicone and try not to bathe my hands in it. Its not going to be too big so the bottom panel will be 10mm and the rest will be 8 mm. I also dont know any skills with making tanks so i need presice info about that part. Im probably going to put in 5-7 baby neons and a yamato shrimp. I also live near a source of good clean driftwood and I need to know how to treat it. Any other suggestions eg filters, lighting will be helpful but Im not a dummy and I dont really need to know how to dechlorinate the water.

yes the room gets not- so- great lighting and I was thinking of an internal and a sponge filter.
the assembly of the tank is very simple, and i would suggest a uniform sheet size, 1cm for all five walls is good. just take a tube of AQUARIUM silicone and apply a bead to the exterior edge of the base, put it together axactly as you would logically. allow the silicone to cure overnight a leak test is a MUST, it also helps to have a grout edger (name??) to get a nice uniform edge, and i would suggest a canister filter, and no light is needed unless it will be in a windowless room, now plants=no need for artificial lighting.
