how fast will my trumpet vine start to grow onto rocks and things in my terrarium? (its a cutting!)
I cut off a bud from the trumpet vine in our yard and i placed it in my terrarium…how long will it be before it starts growing and clinging onto things? same with my devils ivy.
and my white ribbon plants havent grown any and its been like 2 weeks…should i be giving my plants plant food? or what..please help me!! also my palm plant isnt growing either but yet its not getting brown, so im guessing im doing well with it? because it has a little green stem on the side of it, could that become a leaf? also how long until it will grow?
HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR my whole terrarium to start looking nice??? LOL !! it looks soo bare should i add some rye grass?? to help ease the bareness? maybe some bean plants?? IDK!! help me and its a 5 gallon tank with a good heating light..
well the trumpet vine has to root before it can take off and if the cutting dries out its dead, so maybe you should leave it in a container keep it moist in a slightly humid area so it can root. rooting hormone can help but do you need it? naw~ but once it gets going it will grow pretty fast. but again its a tiny cutting your not gonna get much for a long while. also most palms are slow growers s you don;t need to worry about it. your ribbon plant won’t burst into growth either . its only two weeks! be patient. if you want fast results you are goning to have to go shopping for container plants. it’s better to wait till the fall to start planting though. from what i see above you seem pretty impatient so i suggest go with a fast growing 5 gallon plant. You can plant fast growing shrubs or even plant ground cover if you hate the bearness on the ground. Im not sure which area you are in so I can’t really request plants and im not sure of your likes and dislikes too. maby Nandina domestica (heavenly bamboo) is a good choice. try googleing it. its a nice shrub that comes in many shapes and sizes according to variety. its drought tolerant, it can take almost any condition, looks nice and it is fast growing. your local nurseryis probably more knowledgable about the climate you are in then I am so you should ask them for more advis in planting.
