The Nova is a great light. It will be enough for most large polyp corals (LPS), but not for most small polyp corals. Most softs will do just fine as well. Many of the high light corals and anemones will not thrive under those lights and would require a high watt halide. Some deep water SPS would be fine.
The Nova is perfect for euphyllia corals (grape, frogspawn, hammer), most brain corals, elegance corals, bubble corals, leathers, Gorgonian, mushrooms, zoos, some montiporas, etc, but not enough for most acropora or similar SPS.
The same as above on corals that will do well goes for the compacts. I personally prefer the T5s and only run the T5s on moderate/low light tanks and Halides on my high light tanks. I do use a compact on my freshwater planted tank.
Current-USA (they make the Nova) makes a great light and are a wonderful company. They stand behind their product, and if you have a problem with it you can contact them directly and they will fix the problem in most cases.
