can anyone reccomend a cheap alternitave for a hydroponic light?
hey yall,
im starting to grow a ceres skunk marijuana plant for personal medicinal use……and i was wondering if anyone could reccomend any sort of light source i can use, will any ultraviolet light do? or does it have to be a specific kind? bare in mind its only ONE plant, not a room full, overall i just want to know if any old u.v light or maybe flourescent will do ?

you do NOT use UV light on any plant…will kill it quickly. You want a light rich in red (the only color that a plant can use) Use 4′ warm flourescent tubes (probalby 4 or so with reflector) hung about 2 feet above plant, as the plant grows, keep raising the lights….the plant will probalby grow to about 6 feet,, so hang lights on chain with S hook so you can keep raising it .. The leaves are useless, you are after the buds. For good buds, rich in resin, you need temps in area 90 – 95 degrees once they start blooming. With manicure scizzors, cut out seeds as they form…resins will be stronger if you do not allow seeds to develope.. Once buds mature, snip from plant and hang upside down in dry warm area to cure for at least a week. Promote more buds by pruning branches as it grows…buds form at ends of branches only. happy gardening
