Why is my green iguana not growing verry fast?
Can anyone help me?. My iguana just dosen’t appear to be growing much. He is about 2 years old and is only 22 inches head to tail. The viv is about 6 foot long by 4 foot high and 3 foot front to back, has a 300w heat lamp thermostatically supported by an appropriate thermostat basking areas (x2) Temperature is about 90 degrees and about 100 in the basking areas. the viv is humidified twice a day I have a 4ft uv flourescent at uv5.0 I also have a night light on at night. He eats a variety of fruit and veg including the following baby spinache, carrots peas,green beans cuccumber,tomato,cabbage leaves,cress,strawberry,apple. when he was about 1 he lost about a third of his tail which has now grown back. He only seems to shead about once every 3-4 months which im not sure is normal. He isn’t the friendliest of iggy’s he dosen’really like being handled much at all just struggles and lashes out with his tail. so really the question here is does anyone know why he isnt growing?. many thanks.
