5 watt outside refrigerator light bulbs?
My GE fridge uses a small light bulb in the door near the water & ice dispenser in the outside door.
I think they are 5 watts.
I keep the light on 24/7/365.
My problem is the bulbs don’t seem to be lasting long for me. Often burning out after only 2-4 months. Granted, Ive been buying them at the dollar store.
My question: Are higher priced bulbs worth it ? Do they even make longer lasting bulbs that are so small ?
Does buying them at walmart or Lowes and paying much more really mean they are better bulbs ?

a) YES, higher-price, branded lamps are usually _much_ better than no-name or off-brand lamps. Keep in mind that it is quite likely that those dollar-store lamps are factory rejects or counterfeits (if branded) – hence the very low prices.
b) This is true of many such items. Some time amuse yourself by checking ‘branded’ items such as batteries at a true dollar store. You might find that the Duracell or Eveready unit was made in Singapore, Guatamala, Mauritius or similar and made “under license from” or some such.
When it comes to critical-application parts, it pays to source them from the OEM or one of their approved vendors so that you can be sure that they fit the need and meet minimum quality standards. In your case, look for GE-branded parts either directly from the maker or from an approved seller. Link to GE below.
