The electromagnetic radiation from the sun contains all wavelengths from x-ray to radio waves. [light and heat are in the middle]
Plants need a certain wavelength of light in the blue range for photosynthesis
Photosynthesis produces glucose and oxygen from carbon dioxide and water.
The glucose can be used to make other molecules for growth
Plants also need it to be a certain temperature outside, the heat warms the atmosphere
