what types of flowers are small, durable, and attractive?
I’m searching for a small flower species that is easy to plant and maintain and very hard to kill. I also want a pretty flower, with more flower and less plant. I’d like to plant some flowers near my grandmother’s gravestone, so they can’t take up too much space and can handle being nicked occasionally by the lawnmower guy when he rides in to take care of the grass and empty the metal cups that people put bouquets in. All the grave markers are flat, so i think he just mows right over top of them. Our climate is the lower north eastern coast, by the chesapeake bay if that helps. I’ve tried searching google, but i don’t even know what to search for!
I’d recommend creeping phlox. They are very low to the ground, perennials, gorgeous! They were all over the graveyard in my hometown. See the pic in the link below!
