Sword broad leaf aquarium plant? why are the leaves browning?
i bought this plant from aquarium concepts but the tips of leaves dont look so good i left it in the little black pot it came in and set it on my sand do you actualy have to plant it ? whats the temp? my tanks at 76 or did i just get a crappy plant?
I can think of several reasons, anything from not enough lighting to the species you have not being a true aquarium plant.
Does the plant you have include a scientific name? Most of the true swords should be Echinodorus. If it’s a Spathyphyllum, it’s not an aquatic plant, although some stores sell them as such. This is the same genus as a peace lily, and should be treated as such – grown in a pot in soil with only the roots receiving water.
