Can I use a 600w MH lamp with a 1000w MH ballast?
I’m kinda new in agriculture and I need to buy MH kit… For a reason I’m not sure 1000w ballast are cheaper than 600w ballast. I’ve heard 600w bulbs would work with a 1000w ballast as the lamp igniter is the same power… But I’m not sure my source is 100% percent reliable… And I want to know if there is any risk doing it… Also, I would like to know if and how that would affect the light bulb lifetime…
No, it will affect the life span of the lamp, using a reducer/adapter is an alternative.
