I doubt I’d find much argument if I said the Carter Administration was a foriegn policy disaster. His appointed professionals led him down the wrong path time and time again. Carter’s low approval rating was about the same without a war as Bush’s with a war.

Vance left this world in 2002, but he always advocated diplomacy when dealing with Radical Islam. Meanwhile, 52 US diplomats languished 444 days in Iranian jails.

Brzezinski is still alive, and advocates the “bring the troops home” policy for Iraq.

Why should we trust, based on their track records, either one of these guys have a clue how to deal with the Middle East?

I’m thinking, for best results, we should always do the exact opposite of whatever these clowns recommend. What do you think?

(I already know it’s Bush/Rumsfeld that screwed this up, but Petraeus seems to have a handle, so let’s not dwell on the past.)
