What improvements do I need to make to my anole’s enclosure?
I have two anoles in a ten gallon tank. One is a male and the other is a female. I have a spray bottle, a water bowl, a food bowl, two lamps on top, two rocks, eco earth as substrate, fake plants around the top of the cage, live plants around the bottom of the cage, a petco box made into a little house, and a box of crickets and meal worms from petco. I’ve only had them for about three days and I still need to get a uvb light, but I am doing anything wrong or do I need to add anything to the cage? Can I buy a uvb light for less than 15 dollars and if so where?
does one lamp cover half the cage? if so, two is too many at once. Give them a good tree from petco that has lots of leaves for them to have somewhere to hide and get shade, and provide fresh water at least every 3 days. even if they still have water left. they can quickly get sick with old water. spray the cage 1-2 a day with the spray bottle.And with the water bowl, make sure that too many of the crickets dont get in there. because crickets will drown and make the water very dirty. try not to feed meal worms and crickets at same time, because crickets will actually eat the worms before your lizard can! alternate between the two for each feeding time.
