What is better for growing, a 400 watt metal halide, or a 150 watt HPS?
I only have the option of having one. The crop size is small 1-3. The crop is obviously illegal.
go with the 150 HPS. It will give you the best spectrum of light for you project and provide sufficent heat to keep you babies warm. Be carful not to hang it too low though, you could bake you crop.
I would also suggest the possibility of floressent lights if your crop size is only 1-3 plants. They are cheap, but you have to use a lot of them. However you should hang them very close to the plant because they dont give off heat.
