murray river short neck turtle and fluorescent light?
hello,
i have a murray river short neck baby turtle and a 10w fluorescent light (which in inbuilt into my tank, says it’s for plant growth and kills bacteria)
my question is:
1. can i use that as a UV light for my turtle?
2. How many hours in a day should i leave it on for? it’s 10watts

you dont need to use a uv light as murrays dont realy like to bask all that often imo ive kept my original breeding stock without uv since hatchies and ive never had a death or problem without it i just use for hatchies a normal fish tank light and its on 12 off 12 hours and there all fighting healthy just once an a while go into your pet shop and get a turtle block and put it into your tank it makes the shell nice and hard and relesise all other goodies your turtle needs
