saltwater aquarium coral help?
i have a 55g saltwater aquarium with everything from live rock to proper lighting for a reef aquarium 400 watts of metal halide and proper water flow but what kind of buffers i should say should i use to keep the calcium and alk to a proper level for coral what is a good price and a good product to use

An exact dosing regiment cannot be given as you give no information on what corals are in the system and what your water chemistry is currently. You will need to test your water for desired elements and dose appropriately. An overage in one element can prevent you from getting another to increase. It is best managed through water changes with a good salt, btu you can balance the water chemistry yourself by lots of testing and slow dosing. You will need to learn a bit about water chemistry, especially how pH, magnesium, carbonate hardness, and calcium interact.
With 400 watts you will want to provide shade for low light corals and focus on high light corals. Getting 20000K bulbs will help avoid a lot of bleaching.
Plan your coral appropriately as not all corals are compatible. Your type of coral will also dictate what you should be dosing.
Lots of people like the Sea-Lab Formula 28 to “automatically” balance the aquarium. I am not a huge fan myself.
