LED Aquarium lighting?
Are LED aquarium lights like this one on ebay suitable for day lights, or are they simply for looks or as moonlights?

Looking at the specs, the lamp is rated at 2.5W. LEDs have a light efficiency similar to fluoro lamps, so it’s not going to be particularly bright. Enough to see your fish? Yeah. Enough to grow live plants? Nope. A 10gal tank is going to need 10-20 watts of fluoro (or LED) light for decent plant growth.
You can get LEDs with that power, but they cost more than that unit.
