My fishes hide whenever i turn on my aquarium light. Why is that?
Hi! I have a T5 fluorescent light above my tank. Whenever i turn it on, my fishes will hide under the rocks and drift wood then they’ll never come out unless i turn off the light. I really wanted to have a fluorescent light in order to have an optimum growth in my aquatic plants. In my opinion, T5 is the most efficient and changing light bulbs is not an option.How come other T5 user’s fishes aren’t afraid of it’s brightness?
Additional info:
- I have 3 juvenile koi fishes in my tank (2 inches length)
- 20 gallon tank (temporary tank only)
Obviously, they don’t like the bright light.
But that’s the least of your problems. A 20-gallon tank is far too small for 3 koi, or even for one koi. They may be 2 inches long now, but they’ll be a yard long or more when they grow up.
You’ll need at least a 500-gallon tank for those fish.
