salt water fish tank lighting help?
i am new to saltwater and need some help i recently came across a 175w hamilton metal halide pendent and also a 175 w zucker metal halide fixture and was wounder if one of these lights are good and if they can support corals
i have a 20g aquarium

That light is way to powerful for a 20 gallon tank. It will not only put off way to much heat, but can be very expensive. I recommend power compact lighting, like a Current 2×65 watt power compact. This will put of a total of 130 watts, which will be plenty for coral. Power Compacts are built with fans (to keep the fixture cool), legs (to keep the fixture higher off the water to prevent heat exchange), and moon lights (which are small led lights which give the whole nighttime look).
