Heat light help!Ballast Color Temperature?
i bought this http://ericson.thomasnet.com/item/construction-lighting/lite-400-watt-metal-halide-temporary-light-fixture/1004-mhxps?&seo=110 the color temperature says 4000 kelvins is this spec for the stock lamp or is this the max the ballast can produce.
Just to make sure I understand it needs to be clarified that Kelvin or Color Temperature is refering to the color the lamp produces.
So you purchased a 400 watt Metal Halide Pulse Start fixture and lamp. You will always need to use a 400 watt Metal Halide Pulse Start lamp in this fixture. With HID lamps The ballast and lamp parts are specific to each other.
However, Sylvania does make a 400 watt coated lamp like this which changes the kelvin temp to 3600k, but none go higher in kelvin.
