Question about Led Zeppelin??!!?
1. Why did Robert Plant sing very high notes in the studio, and sang low during Concerts? (Ex. Black dog, Stairway to Heaven)
2. How did Jimmy Page learn all of those awesome scales to play his solos (Ex. Stairway to Heaven, Since ive been loving you) if he was self taught?
3. In their movie “The Song Remains the Same”, it looks like John Bonham has a stomach when he is sitting down drumming? is it me or does he have a slight stomach? (see Black dog from TSRTS)
4. Throughout the whole movie of TSRTS, Why Does John Paul Jones looks at John Bonham?

3. It’s not just you. He was a little chubbier than the others. Not that that’s really important.
4. I haven’t noticed that, but it wouldn’t be surprising. They all had to pay close attention to what the other band members were doing, since it’s not like they were just reading sheet music or something. JPJ and Bonham made up the rhythm section, so I’m guessing that would be why.
Both. But if you have to choose, it depends what you want to hear. How the West Was Won has a little more country tinge and more folk elements. Obviously you’ve seen The Song Remains the Same, so you know that’s all about grandiose hard rock with a pseudo-psychedelic leaning. I like parts of both and could never choose a favorite. You really need both if you like Led Zeppelin.
