i have my grow light beside my tomatoes will that be ok?
i know i should really have the light above my tomatoes but i cant hang the light up its too big and very HEAVY!!!! must be at least 30 kilos so ive got my light & reflector sitting beside my tomatoes light is reflecting from both sides of the plants and plenty of heat will it still work this way or will they die
the set up:
HPS 400w reflector & ballast combi and its in a small space of about one n 1/2 by 4 feet only have a few tomato plants its just an experiment really to see if these grow lights actually grow tomatoes

You should be fine unless the tomato plants get really huge. Make sure the light is far enough away that it won’t burn the leaves. As the plants get bigger, you might have to trim some of the leaves so the light can reach the top of the plants. Worst case, the plants will be kind of droopy at the top, but I’m guessing you’ll still get a decent crop of tomatoes out of them.
