Suggestions on grow lights for geraniums and African violets?
My apartment flooded so I moved back in with my mom (hopefully not for long). It’s a basement apartment and doesn’t get any light so I’d like to buy some grow lights for my two geraniums and 4 African violets. I don’t know anything about grow lights so….help! What am I looking for?
You need to get T5 fluorescent bulbs (below) This one is good for lots of other seedlings as well as African Violets. Technically, the “correct luminosity for African Violets is 10,000 to 12,000 lux” Hold your hand over a Violet during the time when it is receiving the brightest light. If possible, get a light meter. Another option is this: If you can barely see the shadow of your hand over the Violet, then it’s the right amount of light.
