Can i grow an indoor plant with only a 40 watt flourescent light, or do i need a 60 watt?
Im doing a school science fair project and using flourescent lights to grow my plants. Will a plants such as a pathos be able to grow with a 40 watt light or do I need a 60 watt.
It is not just the wattage but also the color of light being emitted by the bulb. You should get a “plant growth” bulb such as “Gro-Lux” or other bulbs that simulates natural sunlight. Distance of the bulb from the plant is also a factor. Keep the bulb(s) close to the plant for highest intensity. Since fluorescent bulbs don’t get as hot as incandescent bulbs, you can keep the bulb close to the plant.
