Garage Band Mic and Amp set up?
okay starting a local band and im wondering what a good mic and amp set up is for our vocalist.. me… im thinking about getting the SM58 Shure microphone.. with a line 6 30 watt amp.. any suggestions precautions or remarks? the band is like metal and pop punk.. kind of like A Day to Remember
It depends how loud the rest of your band is. Usually the vocal amplification system should be at least as many watts as the guitar amplifiers but preferably more. The down side of this is the louder your vocal system is the more prone it is to feedback. If you don’t have any kind of feedback suppression then plan to get a long cable and rehearse far from the actual PA speaker(s). The SM58 is a good overall live mic.
