Problem with car sound system!! HELP!!?
the system i have is:
HU: sony CDX-F7710
Front splits: Clarion SRP1620M 250w pp 70w rms
Rears: Clarion SRQ1630R 280w pp 55w rms
Subs: 2 Pioneer in box i think 1000w each
Speaker Amp: Kicker KX300.4
Sub Amp: Pioneer 600w GM-6200F
Alright, my problems are:
1. When i turn the volume up reasonably high the crossover amp things from the splits, only the right one, the lamp in it glows. could this be over powering it?!? and i dnt know y its only the right one.
2. my pioneer amp that is running the 2 subs, after about a couple of mins the amp gets so hot i cant even touch it, why would this be overheating so quickly??
3. Fineally my left hand front speaker seems to sound like less treble. i have played witht he balance goin from left to right and it is alot diifferent.

Difficult to diagnose without being there but let me give it a shot:
Your lack of treble in the front left speaker could have something to do with the polarity of the speaker connections not being correct or the tweeter could be fried within the speaker.
The light on the amplifier is a sign that the amplifier is going into protection mode. This could be caused by overheating, a short somewhere in the speaker / power connections, or, worst case, you could have a bad MOSFET within the amplifier.
As for the subwoofers, you failed to mention what impedance the subwoofers are. If the subwoofers are both 4 ohm and you have them wired in parallel, you are presenting a 2 ohm load to the amplifier. The lower the impedance, the less resistance encountered by the amplifier. Even an amplifier that states it is stable into 2 ohms will overheat rather quickly.
Solutions: Try switching the speaker outputs for your front speakers on the amplifier (connect the right side to your left outputs and your left side to your right outputs. If the left side begins to cut out, it is a problem within the amplifier. If the right side continues to cut out, there is likely a short somewhere with the speaker wires.
For the lack of treble from your left side, remove the speaker(s) and check the impedance with a meter. If the speaker is blown or damaged, the impedance will likely be off or have no reading at all.
